Aloha, Aunty Genoa Leilani Keawe
The Hawaiian music community is mourning the death of Aunty Genoa Leilani Keawe, who died at age 89. She was considered an icon in Hawaiian music, and her career began nearly 70 years ago.
My name is Matt Nozzolio. I play resonator guitar, lap-style guitar and an import squareneck tricone. I play in several acoustic bands, including The Bristol Boys, Allan Harris and Cross That River, Horizon Blue, as well as solo.
I'm part of the Music Under New York program, and the music programs at Griffin Hospital in Derby, Conn., and Midstate Hospital in Meriden, Conn.
